Darren Day splits from Emmerdale actress wife Steph Dooley two years after they renewed their vows
SERIAL love rat Darren Day has split from Emmerdale actress wife Steph Dooley — but no one else is involved.
Steph, 43, confirmed yesterday that the notorious womaniser had left the family house just two years after they renewed their vows.
The couple, who have been married for 12 years and have two children, are understood to have begun divorce proceedings.
Steph is said to be bitter about the split and wrote about it and former Holby City star Darren, 51, in emotional tweets.
But she said yesterday: “There was nobody else involved on either side.”
Darren was voted Britain’s No1 Love Rat for seven years from 1999-2006.
He once proposed to actress Anna Friel, but gave the £30,000 engagement ring to Corrie star Tracy Shaw after they split — before dumping her for Isla Fisher.
He also cheated on later partner Suzanne Shaw and walked out on her and their three-month-old son in 2005. He wed Steph two years later but a pal said: “It is bad. She doesn’t want anything to do with him and is ignoring him.”
