Emmerdale signs Denise Welch’s youngest son Louis Healy in major role as Sarah Sugden’s love interest
FORMER Coronation Street star Denise Welch's son Louis Healy is following in her soap footsteps and is joining Emmerdale.
The 18-year-old is set to join the ITV cast playing Danny who befriends Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill).
Louis' arrival to the Dales will spell trouble for the teen as she develops a crush to her new schoolmate - but the boy-next-door isn't what he appears.
The youngest son of Tim Healy will make his debut on the soap from September 16 and will no doubt make a splash.
This isn't Louis' first foray into acting and recently starred in flick, Sometimes Always Never, playing the grandson of Bill Nighy's character.
Proud of her son, Denise, who starred as Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street between 1997 and 2000, shared the news on her Instagram by posting a promotional shot of him in his new role.
CCaptioning the photo, she said: "Louis’ joining @emmerdale @healytymd".
Not his only parent with an acting background, father Tim has a long list of credits under his belt, including Benidorm, Still Open All Hours, and Coronation Street.
While three members of the family have gone into acting, Louis' brother Matt is the lead singer of the 1975.

Elsewhere, comedian Tommy Cannon will also join the soap playing Derek, a regular patient of resident Doctor Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).
Once again, the full nature of Derek's storyline is underwraps but will have consequences for others.
Emmerdale airs week daily at 7pm with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm.
