Does Sarah Sugden die in Emmerdale? The teen’s new sinister storyline explained

SARAH Sugden has been giving her chicken-pox riddled grandmother, Charity Dingle, a few grey hairs in Emmerdale this week.

The teen – who is played by Katie Hill in the ITV soap – has found herself a love interest, but Charity is worried that Danny isn’t being a very good influence on Sarah.

They’ve already been caught out skiving instead of doing schoolwork, with Sarah kicking off at Charity when she grounded her.

In last night’s episode it soon became clear what’s been worrying Sarah as she told Charity she was trying to make the most of her life while she still has it.

She said: “Time is running out. I’ve not got long and I want to spend it doing things I want to do with people I want to do them with.”

Sarah went on to say that she was going to die and that she would never live to be as old as Charity.

Sarah had a heart transplant in 2018 after suffering heart failure.

The condition came about following chemotherapy she had when she was a child.

According to the British Heart Foundation 75 per cent of UK heart transplant patients live for at least five years.

Sarah’s new friend Danny is played by Denise Welch’s youngest son, Louis Healy.

Louis' arrival to the Dales will spell trouble for the teen as she develops a crush on her new schoolmate - but the boy-next-door isn't what he appears.

The youngest son of Tim Healy made his debut on September 16.

This isn't Louis' first foray into acting.

He recently starred in Sometimes Always Never playing the grandson of Bill Nighy's character.

Proud of her son, Denise, who starred as Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street between 1997 and 2000, shared the news on her Instagram by posting a promotional shot of him in his new role.

Captioning the photo, she said: "Louis’ joining @emmerdale @healytymd.";

Not his only parent with an acting background, father Tim has a long list of credits under his belt, including Benidorm, Still Open All Hours, and Coronation Street.

While three members of the family have gone into acting, Louis' brother Matt is the lead singer of the 1975.

Elsewhere, comedian Tommy Cannon will also join the soap playing Derek, a regular patient of resident Doctor Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).

Once again, the full nature of Derek's storyline is under wraps but will have consequences for others.
