EastEnders’ Jill Halfpenny opens up about ‘unbearable pain’ after boyfriend died of a heart attack in gym

JILL Halfpenny has revealed her devastation after her partner died in the gym two years ago.

The former EastEnders and Coronation Street actress spoke for the first time about her heartbreaking loss that tragically echoed the loss of her father Colin in 1979.

In 2017 her unnamed partner went to the gym and then suffered a fatal heart attack.

She told Line of Duty actor's Craig Parkinson podcast The Two Shot Podcast: "Something happened a couple of years ago - I experienced something I've never ever spoken about.

"In January 2017 my partner, in very similar circumstances to my dad, went to the gym, had a heart attack and died.

"What happened was that it brought all of my grief from my dad as well; it was like dealing with a double loss - a loss I'd never dealt with."

She added: "Oh my god, it's unbearable.

"I cannot cope with these feelings. I just want cessation: the feeling to stop."

The soap actress recalled how aged four she lost her father to a heart attack and how she never really recovered.

He went to play a game of football but sadly never returned.

She recalled how she would pretend to be fine in front of her family but would seek out her bedroom for private breakdowns.

Jill also spoke of how she know tries to openly deal with her emotions instead of bottling them up, telling the host: "It's been a rough few years but I'm here and talking to you."
