What’s more, some have interpreted the series’ crossover with Back to the Future as a major hint that time travel will be involved.

“So the back to the future vibes were very strong but why pay so many royalties for a few jokes? Why not for the story line,” user Tatapeep wrote.

“I think that the Russians will build a time machine to go back in time to before the Star Court mall generator explodes and they kidnap Hopper after finding him in the Upside Down,” continued.

“They bring a demo dog with them and keep the time machine near the prison in case of emergency.”

They went on to outline how Hopper would outmanoeuvre the agents and end up undoing their crimes.

They concluded by predicting a ‘happily ever after for Hopper and Eleven,’ in which the pair live in peace without the threat of supernatural forces tracking them down.

No doubt most viewers would love the pair to enjoy some peace after the ordeals they’ve been put through.

The speculation comes after fans drew parallels between Will and Billy, claiming they were linked by childhood trauma.

Elsewhere, they outlined how a Russian version of Eleven would lend Hopper their powers to escape the Upside Down.
