Bake Off 2019’s Dessert Week is coming up – here’s what to expect
DESSERT Week is the next theme our bakers will tackle on The Great British Bake Off as we officially reach the midway point of the series.
Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will continue to judge the clever creations made on the Channel 4 show, but what else can fans expect and when is episode six on?
What will happen in episode six of Bake Off?
Dessert Week might seem like an easy theme but we can be sure that the bakers will once again be put to the test now we are half way through the series.
The Signature challenge will be an elegant and challenging bake with delicate layers, while Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig will reveal the Technical round - which is set to test the bakers' ability to pull off delicate assembly and precise decoration.
Then the Showstopper will see the contestants create a spherical celebration cake.
Paul and Prue will then decide which baker is deserving of the Star Baker title, while another contestant will face the boot from the show.
When is episode six of Bake Off on TV?
The Great British Bake Off 2019 will return on TUESDAY, October 1, 2019, at 8pm on Channel 4.
The show runs every Tuesday for five more weeks.
The final is likely to be on November 5, 2019 - but this is still to be confirmed.
If you miss the hour and a half long episode you can catch it on Channel 4+1 or the All 4.
What happened in episode five?
The contestants were tasked with making four decorative custard pies and David Atherton thrilled the judges with his vanilla custard pies decorated with flapper girl biscuits and a glazed fruit topping.
He even managed to get a Paul Hollywood handshake!
The bakers then had to make 18 Beignet Souffles (French doughnuts) with sabayon as the Technical challenge.
Finally they were tasked with creating two-tiered Prohibition alcohol infused cake inspired by their favourite cocktail as the Showstopper.
Poor Rosie Brandreth-Poynter had the day of nightmares as she prepared her Blackberry custard pies with matcha tea shortcrust and proceeded to drop one of them on the floor.
To make matters worse, her elderflower jelly dome topping completely melted as everything went to pot for the baker.
Michael Chakraverty also struggled while making his Beignet Souffles and was left in tears as his attempts kept failing.
He joked: "I need to get real men cry trending this week. Hashtag man tears."
Facing the challenges of 1920s week was a roaring success for Steph Blackwell as she was named Star Baker for a second week in a row.

First she impressed with her "perfect" zesty custard pies, while she also managed to fare well in the Technical challenge.
Her Sour Lime Pina Colada cake with Swiss meringue buttercream and candy shard toppings had the judges raving again.
Helena Garcia and Michelle Evans-Fecci both got eliminated from the show in an unexpected turn of events.
Having been Star Baker earlier in the series, Michelle didn't do enough to stay in, while Helena joined her out of the door despite winning the Technical challenge this week.
