In September 2020, Roker was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Two months after his diagnosis, he revealed he had a successful operation and was recovering at home.
Roker took to Instagram to share two photos alongside his wife and their son, Nicholas.
He captioned: "Relieved to let you all know that my #prostatecancer surgery is done and back home."
While Roker might've survived cancer, it was announced in November 2022 that he had been rushed to the hospital for blood clots and was being treated for them in his leg and lungs.
A few weeks after the initial announcement, Roker returned to his slot on Today, and in August 2023, in honor of his 69th birthday, he updated fans on his condition, saying that he's "glad to be alive."
