Harrison Ford, 78, injured on set of Indiana Jones 5 while ‘rehearsing for a fight scene’
INDIANA Jones star Harrison Ford has been hurt while rehearsing a fight scene for the highly-anticipated fifth film.
The extent of the 's injuries are not known but are said to involve his shoulder, which he is currently receiving treatment for.
Sources told that despite the injury, director James Mangold will continue to shoot around his scenes while a treatment plan is evaluated.
The busy filming schedule for Indiana Jones 5 will be reconfigured in order to give Harrison the appropriate time to rest and recuperate, yet meet the July 29, 2022 release date.
A statement from Disney read: "In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder.
"Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks.”
Filming for Disney's Lucasfilm action thriller got underway this month in British movie studios, Pinewood, as well as across the UK.
Harrison is set to star alongside Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Thomas Kretschmann.
Director James, who headed up the production of Logan, is working alongside composer John Williams who will be creating the iconic music.
Ford previously suffered an injury when his leg was broken on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in June 2014.
The actor's leg was caught in a hydraulic door in a freak accident on the Millennium Falcon set at Pinewood's London base.
Harrison was first spotted , sporting his signature fedora and leather jacket.
The actor, who first played Jones in 1981, has been filming "under the cover of darkness" to keep the plot top secret.

Swastikas on set have been covered to avoid offence - as they are placed on set during the Nazi-involved scenes.
A source said: "They're desperate not to cause offence, so filming will mainly take place at night, under the cover of darkness.
"All effort is being taken to be as sensitive as possible."
