They are joined for the social experiment by 24 men – 12 self-proclaimed 'Nice Guys' looking for love, and 12 self-proclaimed 'FBoys,' who will compete for $100,000 in prize money.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, CJ explained she gets her best dating advice from her gay dad, Anthony, who came out when she was a baby and says the pair are incredibly close.
She said: "I've dated some Fboys for sure. I get a lot of my training and detective work from my dad. He's gay, he's been gay my whole life. And so our dynamic is a little unusual where we really talk about everything.
"We are very open with each other and my dad has really trained me on what to look for in boys. His advice is so on point, I really suspect that he too, you know, was once a Fboy.
"My mom and dad were high school sweethearts. He came out when I was one year old. And so I grew up having a gay dad. And they're best friends to this day."
'GUYS WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING'
She added: "Sometimes when I'm speaking, I sound like a sassy gay guy!"
CJ, , says she first found out about the show through her therapist, who forwarded her an application for a general dating program.
"I've been in therapy for years, it's just to make sure that everything's in check," she said.
"I'm a big advocate of good mental health and taking care of yourself.
"I didn't find out it was FBOY Island until the first day we were filming. They [the producers] really kept a lot back to make it surprising for us. I was shook.
"I am a veteran [dating Fboys]. I lived in LA for so long. If I knew that this was the show, I could have gone to Hyde [nightclub] on a Saturday night and lined up all the Fboys.
"Daddy's told me that guys will say anything they need to to get whatever they want to get. And I cannot be tricked by them.
"I cannot be dumb enough to walk into their traps. And when I feel something in my gut that's wrong, if I feel like someone's cheating on me, if I feel like someone's lying to me, I always believe it.
"And then men will tell you that you're crazy. And any guy that tells you that you're crazy needs to go. A man that will say his ex-girlfriend is crazy, that's [also] a red flag for me."
CJ recalled one date in particular with a guy who got another girl's number in front of her - and then went on to have children with her.
"One time it was pretty tragic," she says. "I was on a first date with this guy and he brought me to a football game, and you need to know right now that I hate sports. I am not a fan.
"We were on the field and I was taking some Instagram pictures. When I turned around, he was like giving his number to this girl. I was like, 'What are you doing?' And he's like, 'Oh no, no, I'm networking. This is for work.'
'I WANT A FAMILY'
"I was like, okay, well, that's strange. I don't know why you'd risk upsetting me, but okay. And you know, they went on to have a beautiful relationship and their kids are so cute from what I can see on Instagram. A beautiful family. I guess I was the one in the way."
Asked what she's looking for in a relationship right now, she giggled: "Dumb, hot and fun," but is keeping tight-lipped about whether she met anyone suitable on the show.
When it comes to long term romance, she said she's searching for "a good daddy, someone who wants a family," adding: "And I want someone who likes me more than I like them.
"Ideally, someone less attractive than me. I don't want to be worrying. I wanna be able to leave them unattended without stressing out."
CJ says the island set-up for the new show, hosted by , was "absolutely stunning," and her best moments were getting to go on one-on-one dates in beautiful locations.
Talking about her female co-stars, she described them as being "very smart, put together, and well-spoken."
FEMALE EMPOWERMENT SHOW
"They reminded me a lot of my friends back at home, which was definitely the structure and support that I needed going into a situation like that because it is hard," she said.
"You go into that hoping that you're going to be able to be detached and smart and strategic. And then when your heart gets involved, things kind of change. We didn't have our phones, weren't able to talk to our families or friends, so they really were my support system.
"I think that the producers did a great job making sure that this was more of a female empowerment show and putting us in situations where we were able to support each other and to make each other look good."
She explained: "I used to like to be a victim or to think that things were other people's fault. But as far as the reason that men are acting like Fboys, I think it's because women don't put their foot down.

"We're too worried that there's women ready to compete with us and to step in and take someone. We need to support each other and put bad guys in their place, tell someone when to shut up and when it's too much.
"I learned on the show that when women are controlling the sex, we're not hooking up. It's not the same, we're not pressuring. Guys pressure us to have sex with them, and then we walk around with guilt."

Asked if anyone has , she laughed: "If you could just see my eyes right now you'd know the answer to that."
CJ added: "I went in with the attitude that I was going to have fun with it, I was going to enjoy myself. I was going to be true to myself. I was going to make sure my dad was proud of me. It's going to be so epic to watch."
