Jackson's first marriage was to American R&B and soul singer James Curtis DeBarge.

DeBarge is known for his work with his family's band DeBarge, which became famous in the mid-1980s following the release of the songs All This Love, Love Me in a Special Way, Rhythm of the Night, and Who's Holding Donna Now.

Jackson and DeBarge tied the knot in 1984 but got divorced shortly after in 1985.

Six years after her divorce from DeBarge, Jackson tied the knot with René Elizondo.

Elizondo is known as a Mexican dancer, songwriter, and music video director.

After tying the knot in 1991, the couple decided to split in 2000.

He later remarried Britt Coelho in 2010.

In 2012, Jackson tied the knot with Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana and has had a rocky relationship with him ever since.

In 2017, the couple decided to file split three months after welcoming their son Eissa, citing cultural differences as one of the reasons.

“For years, Janet tried to adapt to his culture. Since it’s not a culture she grew up with, it’s been challenging for her. She often felt she disappointed Wissam,” a source told in April 2017.

“The cultural differences between her and Wissam became even more obvious [after Eissa arrived]. They come from very different worlds.”

Jackson grew up in a Jehovah’s Witness household while Al Mana is Muslim.

Despite separating in 2017, the two are still legally married and caught up in a $1billion divorce battle.
