Inside Whitney Houston’s family curse 10 years after her passing as her loved ones suffer death, addiction & misfortune
EVEN 10 years after Whitney Houston's shocking death, her legacy has been marred by similar tragedies that have affected those closest to the musical legend.
And many fans are convinced that her family tree is cursed.
Whitney was just 48 when she passed away in 2012.
On February 11, the Grammy winning singer was found facedown in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Paramedics were called and performed CPR, but to no avail.
The cause of death was deemed "accidental drowning, heart disease and cocaine use."
An open bottle of champagne and a spoon containing a "white crystal like substance" along with a rolled-up piece of white paper were spotted near her body, according to the coroner's report.
Traces of Xanax, Benadryl, and marijuana were found in her system.

In the years since that day, the word would lose several more members of Whitney's family, some under eerily similar circumstances, while others would suffer life-threatening consequences.
BOBBY BROWN
Bobby and Whitney first met at the Soul Train Music Awards in 1989.
Their initial friendship became more serious, and in 1991, the performer asked her to marry him.
The two were married a year later.
Their friendship developed into a romance. In 1991, Bobby proposed marriage to Whitney and the couple married at Houston's estate on July 18, 1992.
Bobby, 53, has long suffered from addiction to pot and alcohol.
But he would later claim it was Whitney who introduced him to cocaine shortly before their wedding.
After years of rumored infidelity by both parties, the couple divorced in 2007.
Bobby has run afoul of the law multiple times, and has several arrests on his record.
Days after the death of his ex-wife, Bobby appeared at Whitney's memorial service, but was asked to leave by the family's security.
BOBBI KRISTINA
Bobbi Kristina Brown was just 14 when her parents divorced, with Whitney gaining custody of her.
When the singer died in February 2012, Bobbi was named as the sole beneficiary of her mother's estate.
But Bobbi caused controversy when she announced her engagement to Nick Gordon - a man she previously considered her big brother.
The 22-year-old died in July 2015 after being found unconscious in a bathtub in her Atlanta home six months before.
Her death was an eerie repeat of her mother’s death.
Nick and a guest were at the home when she was found unconscious.
The medical examiner’s office said it was unclear if Bobbi’s death was accidental or intentional.
An autopsy determined that she had marijuana, alcohol, cocaine and morphine in her body.
BOBBY BROWN JR.
Five years after the loss of Bobbi Kristina, Bobby's son, Bobby Jr. was found dead in his Los Angeles home on November 18, 2020.
Months later, The Sun learned Bobby Jr., who was 28 at the time, died after consuming a deadly mix of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl.
The official report showed he had a history of alcohol and drug use and his death was ruled as accidental.
The case report from LAPD read: "In the hours prior to being found unresponsive he had consumed tequila and snorted cocaine and Percocet."
NICK GORDON
The curse extends to beyond the immediate family, as Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend Nick died of a heroin overdose on January 1, 2020.
According to the autopsy report, the 30-year-old was “found unresponsive” and “in cardiac arrest” with resuscitation and hospitalization.
He was hospitalized for approximately seven hours before he passed away.
The manner of death was listed as an “accident.”
He also tested positive for Narcan, which is a drug used to counter the effects of an overdose.
NICK'S FAULT
In September 2016, a Georgia judge found Nick legally responsible for the Bobbi Kristina's death, according to .
Because he failed to show up in court twice, he was found in contempt of the order and the judgment was made "by default."
