OVER 30 years after his death the famous and beloved artist Andy Warhol is still being remembered.
A new documentary series is coming to Netflix this spring uncovering the mystery of who was Andy Warhol.
How did Andy Warhol die?
The iconic artist died on February 22, 1987, in New York City.
Warhol was shot by reporter Valerie Solanas in 1968 which led to his fear of hospitals, .
Years later in 1987, the artist died from cardiac arrest following gallbladder surgery.
According to the outlet, Warhol delayed the procedure for years due to his fear of hospitals.
Jose Diaz, curator of the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania confirmed Warhol's fears to the outlet.
"He could have gotten [the surgery] scheduled and done earlier, had he been more preventative about his health," Diaz said.
"But until the end, he avoided hospitals. He was always nervous about getting sick. I think death always made him nervous, but of course, having almost died once really escalated that."

What was Andy Warhol famous for?
Warhol was born on August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was a commercial pop artist known how many of his printmaking works and paintings.

- Marilyn Diptych 1962
- Coca-Cola 1962
- Silver Car Crash (Double Disaster) 1963
His signature technique was creating serigraphs, and the use of silkscreen for his paintings.
Is Netflix making a docuseries on Andy Warhol?
The major streaming company announced via Twitter on February 18, 2022, that they are releasing a documentary series on Warhol.
The series will see executive producer Ryan Murphy uncover the life behind the mysterious artist.
Warhol's personal diaries will be used to tell the artist's life story come March 9, 2022.
"Andy Warhol’s name, work, and legacy is known the world over — but he remains, by design, a mystery.

"Now, a new docuseries combines his diary entries with rare footage to uncover the artist behind the art," Netflix wrote.
The title of the show is The Andy Warhol Diaries.
