Bruce Willis cuddles up to daughter Scout in rare picture as she shares emotional message about his aphasia diagnosis
SCOUT Willis posted an emotional photo of her and her father, Bruce, after revealing his aphasia diagnosis to the world.
One day after Bruce Willis’ family shocked the world with news of him retiring, Scout took to Instagram to honor her father.
“Papa,” she posted with two heart and fire emojis. “Yesterday was so surreal, sharing something so personal. I didn’t know how it would be received, there is always an unknown when sharing out so vulnerably into the world. I’d hoped for some love and compassion, I truly NEVER could have anticipated the depth and breadth of the love we received as a family yesterday.”
She continued to say that the amount of love, energy, and prayers the family has received kept hitting her and it humbled her so much that it brought her to tears.
“Thank you so much to everyone who reached out to me yesterday, i love and I appreciate you with all my heart, it’s gonna take me a whole to respond to your messages!” Scout ended the message.
The heartfelt caption comes alongside a photo of Scout and Bruce smiling at each other as she cuddles into him on a chair.
His entire family posted tributes to the former actor and were so moved by the outpouring of love for Bruce.
It’s not clear whether the photo was taken before or after his diagnosis.
BRUCE’S SHOCKING NEWS
Demi Moore, Bruce’s ex-wife, was the first to share the news on March 30 that the actor has been diagnosed with aphasia, which is a brain condition that affects his ability to understand language.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.”
“As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him,” the statement read.
The world was shocked to know that the 67-year-old was struggling with cognitive issues on set for a while now.
Everyone was even more shocked to find out he was retiring from acting.
The former actor even needed an earpiece to feed him lines, long before his diagnosis was announced.
CHAOS ON SET
His cognitive ability had been declining in recent years and it had come out recently that he misfired a gun on set.
Lala Kent, who played Bruce’s daughter in the movie Hard Kill in 2020, told the about the incident.
While filming, he misfired a gun loaded with a blank on the wrong cue twice.
“I’m supposed to think my life is about to end and then my dad steps in to save the day,” he told the newspaper.
Her back was turned to the actor and he was supposed to tell her to duck, but didn’t.
No one was injured but Lala remembered being very shaken up that day.
Another crew member said that willis did fire the gun on the wrong line but they made sure no one was in line of the fire while anyone was handling a gun.
Back in April 2021, Bruce was confused at to why he was on the set of White Elephants.
“I know why you’re here, and I know why you’re here, but why am I here?” he asked two crewmembers.
