MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023: Who is hosting and performing?

IN 2023, the MTV Movie & TV Awards will host back-to-back ceremonies for scripted and unscripted television.

On Sunday, May 7, 2023, the two-part event kicks off at 8pm ET via MTV.

Who is hosting?

Drew Barrymore was initially set to host the MTV Movie & TV Awards after an announcement made by the channel on March 15, 2023.

However, Barrymore stepped down as the host just days before the award show.

The talk show backed out in order to stand in solidarity with the 2023 Writers Guild of America Strike.

Many other celebrities such as Quinta Brunson, Seth Meyers, Amanda Seyfried, and Jimmy Fallon are supporting the writers’ strike.

, Barrymore will be hosting the 2024 MTV Movie & TV Awards due to contract complications.

As of now, it is unclear who will be hosting this year.

In 2022, Diplo and Swae Lee performed their song Tupelo Shuffle for the first time on television.

This year it is rumored that Sia, Travis Barker, and Steve Aoki will perform, according to .
