RYAN Seacrest has shown off his shocking new undergarments after suffering a major NSFW wardrobe malfunction on live TV.
Earlier in Wednesday's episode, his morning talk show co-host, Kelly Ripa, teased the 47-year-old with an NSFW joke.
During the broadcast of Live with Kelly and Ryan, the American Idol host shared what he described as an "awkward wardrobe moment backstage."
He explains that Esther, the person who helps him pick out his clothes for the show, wanted him to wear a tank top under the long-sleeved blue polo shirt.
Ryan relays to the audience that he told her, "Nah, I don't need to wear the tank top."
Kelly, apparently aware of Esther's fabric to bare chest hangup, interrupts and explains: "She doesn't like when your nipples are prominent."

"Right!", exclaims Ryan among scattered audience laughter.
He proceeds, "That's what she said which was a little uncomfortable--" before Kelly interjects with a joke.
She quipped: "But then you should stop rubbing ice on them before you come out."
Ryan keeps the joking running as he playfully states: "But that's my preshow ritual, and it's my ceremony, and it relaxes me before I come on the air."

The radio personality jumps back into his story: "She hands me these two stickers and says you should put these on."
Cat calls and wolf whistles erupt from various members of the studio audience who are a step ahead of some of the others.
Ryan describes the undergarments, saying that "they are strange looking stickers, they have ears and a big face...and they're the color of skin."
Again Kelly wedges in a witty remake: "I see Ester's been playing in my underwear drawer."
The TV personality reveals: "I'm wearing two of them now and I'm a little uncomfortable."
A shocked Kelly tells her co-host that she really wants him to show the audience and viewers.
Influenced by the cheering crowd and his clapping colleague, Ryan reaches under his shirt and pulls one of the nipple pasties free.
Kelly voices her disappointment: "No, we want to see them on!"
Ryan isn't going for it as he holds the sticker up for the camera and asks, "see it looks like a face doesn't it?"
A let-down Kelly looks away for her morning show partner and replies, "oh that's just for the nipple."
GETTING FREAKY
Throughout the episode, Ryan had a little trouble with his chest pasties and worked to make sure they stayed stuck on his skin throughout the show.
At one point, he was reminiscing about one of his first cars when he was younger when he started to feel his chest through his shirt, again to check on the pasties.
Kelly, though, didn’t know exactly what he was doing and joked about his car making him “aroused.”
After Ryan explained what happened, she just continued and said that he was “freakier than [she] imagined.”
The two just started laughing and bantering about the confusion that turned into the NSFW moment.
Ryan mentioned his nipple covers a few more times throughout the broadcast after he had spent some time explaining why he had them on in the first place.
At the start of the episode, he shared that he was told to put them on so as to not make anyone uncomfortable with anything showing through his shirt.
Instead, they only brought on more awkward moments as he struggled to keep them on.
LEVITY GONE
Earlier this week, Kelly slammed fans for not having a good sense of humor with her jokes anymore.
During Monday’s show, the 51-year-old made yet another joke at her own expense, but those around her didn’t have the reaction she’d hoped for.
After co-host Ryan complimented how great she looked, the soap opera alum told him that that’s just because she styled her hair in a side part.
After a bit of banter between the Live with Kelly and Ryan hosts, the American Idol asked her: “Why is it that [your husband Mark Consuelos] and I forget it’s the side part?
“Because you’ve told me that every time I say it.”
That’s when Kelly cracked a bit of her usual self-deprecating humor, saying: “I think that as long as I cover half of my face, you guys think I’m pretty.”
Instead of laughing, Ryan gave her a side hug and cooed: “Nooooo.”
The audience then seemed to aww and boo to the joke.
Having had enough of people not understanding her anymore, Kelly told everyone: “Oh, shut it. You guys used to have a sense of humor.
“I forgot, we live in America now. No humor, say nothing.”

She continued her sarcasm as she just hung her head down and told her co-host to take over, saying: “Go ahead, Ryan.”
Before moving on to the next topic, he joked back to her that, yes, “levity is gone, Kelly.”
