Aaron was the younger brother of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter.

He secured his first record deal at the age of nine, and opened concerts for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears throughout his teen years.

His debut album was released a year later and reached gold status, according to the .

He also has two sisters, one of which is his twin, Angel - and Leslie, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 25 from a drug overdose.

After a childhood filled with touring and number 1 hits, Aaron's life took a turn.

AARON'S STRUGGLES

He struggled with substance abuse and his mental health.

Aaron had opened up on the show  about the pills he was taking.

He said, "I haven't had any relapses or anything like that, it's just triggers are big right now for me [and] I want my son back."
