Travis Barker breaks silence after wife Kourtney Kardashian’s emergency fetal surgery and reveals fate of Blink-182 tour
TRAVIS Barker has spoken out for the first time since Kourtney Kardashian underwent a scary procedure to save their baby.
The Hulu star revealed that she had to have fetal surgery to correct an issue that threatened the life of her fourth baby – her first with the famed rocker.
Travis, 47, took to X – the social media platform formerly known as Twitter – days after Blink-182 announced plans to postpone shows as he dealt with a family emergency.
He wrote on Wednesday: “God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well.
“I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday.”
Prior to the post, the drummer hadn’t released a statement of his own about the scary situation.
Kourtney, 44, shared the scary details with her supporters in an emotional Instagram post earlier that same day.
‘FOREVER GRATEFUL’
The star shared a pic of her belly with a bandaid on it.
Her hand was visible in the post, revealing an IV stuck in it.
She and Travis appeared to be holding onto one another’s fingers in the post.
The Lemme founder wrote: “I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock.
“And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”
She went on: “As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear.
“I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
Kourtney concluded: “Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing.”
ON THE MEND
Kourtney is back home and recovering with her family by her side.
Last week, her husband announced to his European fans that he would be postponing several shows.
The post, shared on Blink-182‘s Instagram, read: “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed.
“More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.”
Fans suspected that Kourtney might have gone into labor but those theories were quickly put to bed when she and her husband were seen leaving a hospital in Los Angeles together.
The Kardashians star was on her feet and walking which left many puzzled as to what could have happened.
Kourtney and Travis both appeared downtrodden as they made their way to the car.
The musician kept his head low, wearing all black.
Kourtney, still sporting a bump, kept it casual in a sweatsuit with her short dark hair in a messy bun.
She hid her eyes behind dark sunglasses.
