Jamie Foxx sued for sexual abuse by woman who claims he ‘assaulted’ her on rooftop of trendy NYC restaurant
JAMIE Foxx has been sued for sexual assault by a woman who claims he groped her at a New York City restaurant in 2015.
The actor has not yet addressed the allegations against him.
Foxx, 55, is facing legal action stemming from an alleged sexual assault that is said to have occurred eight years ago, according to .
The lawsuit alleges that Foxx and the woman suing him were at Catch NYC & Roof in August 2015 at the same time.
The plaintiff in the case arrived after Foxx and noted in her filing that she noticed him sitting a table away from her.
A friend she was with reportedly approached the actor at around 1 am to ask for a photo.
The filer claims that Foxx replied: “Sure, baby, anything for you,” and appeared under the influence at the time.
She went on to allege that he commented on her appearance, saying: “Wow, you have that supermodel body” and “You smell so good.”
The unnamed woman claims in her lawsuit that Foxx pulled her by one arm to a back section of the rooftop.
There, he allegedly placed his two hands on her waist, moved them under her top and began rubbing her breasts.
The woman claims she tried to get away and took notice of security guards and other people nearby who were aware of what was happening.
They opted to walk away, however, rather than helping her, she alleges.
In her lawsuit, the woman claims that the Beat Shazam host went on to slide his hand into her pants.
He allegedly put his fingers on and in her vagina and anus.
She claims her friend approached, realized what was happening, and Foxx stopped touching her.
TMZ reached out to reps for Foxx who did not immediately respond.
The alleged victim also claims she was injured and had to seek medical treatment as a result.
She says she suffered pain, suffering, and emotional distress as a result of the “sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery.”
She is suing Foxx, Catch, and its employees for compensation and punitive damages.
The lawsuit against Foxx is one of several high-profile suits filed as a result of a New York law regarding the statute of limitations.
Several stars are being sued ahead of a deadline put in place to file lawsuits under a New York law called the Adult Survivors Act that suspended time constraints on claims involving allegations of sexual misconduct for one year, as noted by .
The law allows survivors of sexual assaults that occurred when they were over the age of 18 to sue their abusers regardless of when the alleged abuse occurred.
Recently, singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for sexual abuse and assault.
However, just one day after the shocking claims against the rapper and business mogul, Cassie and Diddy reached a settlement, and the lawsuit was dismissed.
The law expires on November 23.
FAN FALLOUT
Following the news, X – formerly Twitter – was flooded with reactions to the shocking allegations.
One Foxx fan posted: “Oh no!”
“Not Jamie Foxx with an accusation,” someone else reacted with.
Foxx himself has not commented on the claims made against him.
He was active on social media on Wednesday.
The film star posted a video of himself throwing a football into a basketball hoop on his Instagram feed.
He captioned the post: “My name is….. WILLIE…. WILLIE BEAMAN.”
Foxx also posted a pickleball video to his Instagram Story on Wednesday.
He has not shared anything else since the pair of sports-related clips, however.
HEALTH SCARE
Foxx was hospitalized in April of this year following a “medical complication.”
He was shooting a film in Atlanta at the time, speaking out after he fell ill on set.
In July, a source told that the actor appeared to be in “good spirits” following his hospitalization.
“He looks healthy,” the insider claimed.
“He didn’t need any physical assistance.”
The Spider-Man actor spoke on his condition in a social media video in July, saying: “I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back.
“I went through something I thought I would never ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting to hear updates about my condition but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that.”
He went on: “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show.
“I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
Foxx then thanked his sister, his daughter, God, and the medical professionals who treated him.
He also refuted rumors about his health, confirming that he was not paralyzed.
He concluded by saying: “I’m on my way back.”
