THE first trailer for Danny Boyle's Trainspotting 2 has arrived - and here it is.

The trailer is very brief, and gives nothing new away, but shows Spud (Ewen Bremner), Renton (Ewan McGregor), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller) and Begbie (Robert Carlyle) reunited on a railway platform as Iggy Pop's Lust for Life plays.

The movie will arrive 21 years after the 1996 original and is loosely based on Irvine Welsh's novel Porno.

Porno is set 10 years after the original with the gang reluctantly getting back together to help Sick Boy fulfil his dream of producing a porn film.

It's not known how closely the film will stick to Welsh's novel but Ewan McGregor recently told Collider that it was "really, really, really good."

"None of us want to make a poor sequel to it," he said. "So if we had not been presented with the most extraordinary script, which we were, I think we wouldn't be making the sequel."

"But because we were, we are."

Trainspotting 2 - or T2 as it's become known - will be in cinemas on January 27, 2017.
