Tom Hiddleston stars in the latest Kong: Skull Island trailer
Watch the actor in the new action-packed trailer with co-stars Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson - it's not to be missed
THE full trailer for Kong: Skull Island has landed.
It’s certainly an epic King Kong film but the ape is not as we have seen him before.
The film, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, stars Tom Hiddlestone and Brie Larson who are on, what seems to be, a government mission when they encounter Kong.
As the trailer starts softly with visions of the sunset and uplifting music, Captain James Conrad, played by Hiddlestone, embarks on said mission via helicopter before the trailer takes a turn with the line, “Is that a monkey?”
Kong’s roar answers the question.
It would appear, with bright-fire visuals and a montage of scared faces, that the giant ape puts up quite a fight.
The best bit for us?
Unlike Peter Jackson’s 2005 film, King Kong, starring Jack Black, the trailer makes hints at elements of humour with added help from John C. Reilly.
Aside from killer graphics and unapologetic action, it’s the spiritual undertone to the updated storyline that we can’t wait for.
“Kong is God on the island but the devils live below us,” O’Reilly’s character states.
It looks like John C. Reilly is going to bring something to this film that no other Kong movie had.
Samuel L. Jackson also stars in the film as Lieutenant Colonel Packard. Jackson is certainly no stranger to the action genre following roles in Jurassic Park, Snakes on a Plane and The Avengers, naming just a few. He is also famously known for starring in Tarantino hits.
What are the skull-crawlers?
Is King Kong really going to keep peace?
Does Brie Larson actually have any lines?
Will we feel sorry for Kong?
So many questions!
