LOVE Island's Joe Garratt has been compared to the psycho stalker from Netflix drama You after his shock jealous outburst.

The 22-year-old hunk stunned fans when he told Lucie Donlan he could no longer trust her after she was chosen to go on a date with boxer Tommy Fury.

The pair had been coupled up for 24 hours after first meeting during Monday's launch, with newcomer Tommy stealing the blonde beauty in last night's show.

Joe was left fuming by the steal, ranting to the fellow Islanders about his heartache.

When Lucie returned from her candelit dinner with Tommy, she told Joe that she wanted to go to bed but he demanded that they had a chat first.

The catering company owner slammed the surfer for keeping her options open, and the next day he sniped that he could no longer trust her after she was chosen for the date.

Speaking in the garden, Joe said: "I thought I could trust you, but now I don't feel like I can."

Lucie replied: "It's been two and a bit days... It's going fast", before appeasing Joe as she told him that she wasn't interested in Tommy.

The scenes left fans at home stunned, with many criticising Joe's possessive behaviour - comparing him to the stalker in You, who is also called Joe.

Viewers also claimed that there was a similarity in looks between actor Penn Badgley who plays the psychotic character and the Islander.

One fan tweeted: "It’s the same Joe from You, if he traps Lucie in a box to win her back, I called it."

Another added: "Joe returning for the sequel of You?? Love a Netflix original #LoveIsland".

You follows Joe, a bookshop worker who grows obsessed with a customer, Beck, stalking her until she agrees to a relationship with him - with terrifying consequences.

It wasn't just viewers who were left uncomfortable with Joe's behaviour, with his fellow Islanders Anton Danyluk and Michael Griffiths also poking fun at the hunk.

After telling him that he'd reacted more dramatically than they'd expected, Anton joked to Michael: "Bro, can you imagine what he'll be like after a week?"

Amy Hart also took Lucie outside for a chat, encouraging her to keep her options open as she slammed Joe's reaction - reminding her that she isn't obliged to stay with him.

However, fans also think that the awkward love triangle could be resolved before it even properly begins, with bombshell Molly-Mae expected to turn Tommy's head when she enters the villa in tomorrow night's episode.
