LOVE Island's Sam Bird has blasted Lucie for "speaking in code" to win the show with "likely winner" Joe Garratt.
The 2018 contestant is convinced the competitive pair forced their feelings early on knowing they had a good chance of being crowned champions in eight weeks' time.
But their relationship hit the rocks last night when Joe's jealous streak was revealed following Lucie's recoupling with boxer Tommy Fury.
Defending the star's "creepy" behaviour, Sam says he thinks it's really Lucie who's playing a game - and Tommy is the one she really fancies.
"They're all panicking," he told The Sun Online.
"In the history of Love Island, the first week has always been quite a big week for the winners because every year two people who started off in a couple have won.
"If you had to pick a winner, just based on the VT and early days, you'd pick Joe.
"He's a classic winner, Lucie knows that."
In the last three series of Love Island, the winners met and coupled up in the first week, including - Jack and Dani (2018), Kem and Amber (2017) and Nathan and Cara (2016).
After just 24 hours, Lucie and Joe were talking about catching feelings already and promising not to have their heads turned in the villa.
It made Sam believe the pair were "speaking in code" about coupling up to win - without having to give the game away on camera.
"The conversations they've had so early on have been weird," ranted Sam.
"Joe told Lucie she didn't have to be worried about other girls. How can you say that just a few days in?
"That's like meeting someone on the outside and instantly saying she's the one you're going to marry.
"But I think it's more her than him. Obviously he's coming across stronger - as if he wants to be with her more - but I think that's because he genuinely likes her.
"She seems really competitive, I guess because she's a surfer.
"Joe looks like he wants to find someone early on because he doesn't want to go out in the first week, he thinks she's fit and they get on.
"He knows it helps your chances to win if you meet someone in the first week, too.
"I think with her, she's keeping her options open a bit, but knows he's very similar to previous winners."
Meanwhile Tommy ruffled feathers when he broke up Lucie and Joe so he could crack on with the surfer.
Despite Lucie staying faithful, she ended up crying over the pressure of two hunks fighting over her.
Sam added: "People can say you're trying to find love, but for the first week you just want to stay in there.
"You don't want to leave because for your career it won't be as good. A lot of people match up with someone just so they can stay in.
"They'll play the game and couple up with someone they're not too bothered about.
"You do have to find a route."
