Love Island bosses DID know Elma’s real age – but she lied on the show to the Islanders
LOVE Island bosses knew Elma Pazar's real age before she entered the villa, but she lied to Islanders.
The eyelash technician made it known she was 26 years old prior to joining the ITV2 dating show, which was confirmed after show bosses completed their thorough background checks.
Although she didn't lie to the producers, she did keep the truth from her housemates.
A source exclusively told The Sun Online: "Elma didn't lie to the show bosses about her real age - the contestants have to go through so many tests and background checks there's no way she would have got away with it.
"She provided her passport and ID that proved she was 26.
"Even the publicity materials send out before she entered the villa said she was 26."
It wasn't until the Essex star entered the Spanish abode she decided to drop three years off her age, and spread the fake age with fellow contestants.
The insider added: "It's only when she got into the villa that she started telling people she was 23."
However, on her first date with Danny Williams, which aired on June 13, Elma came clean about her white lies.
Danny asked: "Can I ask how old you are?"
She coyly replied: "You can ask. How old do you think I am?"
Danny guessed 24 years old, much to Elma's delight.
She replied: "I'm actually 26 but I tell everyone I'm 23."
Following her exit, Elma spoke to Kem Cetinay and Arielle Free on the Love Island Morning After podcast about her time in the villa and admitted she's 26, NOT 23.
She revealed: "I lied about my age on Love Island. I tell everyone I'm 23, it's a real issue.
"I'm 26 but now everyone knows it because they said they couldn't lie for me."
So far the villa has housed 19 contestants this year with the average age of 24.
