LOVE Island's Lucie Donlan is refusing to give up on a romance with Tommy Fury after being dumped from the villa.
The 21-year-old surfer caused controversy when she repeatedly told the 20-year-old boxer that she fancied him despite the fact he is happily coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague.
She and George Rains became the second casualty of this week's double dumping in tonight's episode of the show, and she still believes that she has a chance with the hunk.
Speaking after leaving the villa, Lucie explained: "Me and Tommy will always be best friends.
"I’ve had best friends and then dated them and then still been best friends after. I think a lot of girls think it’s odd but I can turn things on and off really easily.
"You’ll always have a love for a best friend whether it’s a boy or a girl but at times it can mean different things.
"I want to see how things go with him and Molly-Mae, I can see he really likes her. I’m happy for them.
"I feel like we’ll see what happens on the outside and how those guys will go but never say never, if we did come to that romantic stage in a few years and me and Tommy were still friends, you never know."
Lucie was torn between Tommy and sandwich-maker Joe Garratt during the first week of the show, ultimately choosing to couple up with Joe before Tommy found love with Instagram influencer Molly-Mae.
Despite telling the Islander that she wished she'd chosen him instead, Lucie has now insisted that she doesn't regret choosing Joe.
She continued: "I don’t have any regrets about coupling up with Joe. I went with how I felt at the time.
"I felt really strongly about him at the time. I got on with him straight away, whereas with Tommy it took time."
Before Joe was brutally dumped from the villa he came under fire for expressing concern about Lucie's friendship with Tommy, admitting that he felt she still had feelings for him.
When Lucie confessed that she had a crush on Tommy weeks later, the 22-year-old hunk wasted no time in issuing a savage response on his social media page.

He tweeted: "Always trust your gut instincts."
And ever since, Lucie has pulled Tommy for several chats where she has repeated her feelings - despite the boxer rebuffing her advances every time in favour of Molly-Mae.
In last night's episode of the show, the blonde beauty came under fire when she broke down in tears after Tommy asked Molly to officially be his girlfriend.
Lucie was comforted by Jordan Hames as she sobbed, admitting that it was difficult to see the pair together.
