Winter Love Island bosses ‘want twins, Essex lads and a GOTH girl’ for South Africa version of the show

LOVE Island bosses are on the hunt for twins, Essex lads and a Goth girl for the brand new winter series.

Talent spotters for the winter series - which will take place in South Africa in January - have been tasked with finding specific types of would be celebrities to make the series more explosive than ever.

The more unusual requests are mixed in with typical requests for Essex lads and lasses, girl-next-door and gym-honed personal trainers.

Scouts and celeb agents have been supplied with the pointers of what ITV2 show bosses could be interested in as they start reaching out to possible singletons.

One lad who was approached at a Spanish pool party last week said: "I was asked if I was single and they showed me credentials from ITV2.

"I was a bit nervous about giving my name so they then showed me an email where they’d been asked to find 'types'. On there, it listed twins, goth girls and Essex lads."

Another insider confirmed that bosses would be flying fewer people out to the villa in South Africa, so they needed to make sure that every contestant was a "strong option".

The source said: "It’s no secret that contestants for the show come through a lot of different channels.

"As well as tens of thousands of people applying through ITV’s website this year, the show accepts contestants put forward by talent scouts and agents, and producers approach people on social media too."

This year's series was won by Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea despite the fact that they had only been together for 12 days by the time of the finale.

The series has been the most-watched yet, leading for ITV2 to order another series to broadcast in January.

Both winter and summer series of the ITV2 dating show will air for six weeks each, with host Caroline Flack returning to present in a big money deal.
