THE Walking Dead star Avi Nash has called on fans of the zombie TV show to remember "s**t happens" and not to get too wound up over plot lines.

Avi starred in the AMC drama as Siddiq, a young man taken under Carl Grimes' wing as they learned to battle the Walkers.

However Carl was soon bitten by a beastly zombie and succumbed to his injuries - a death that only occurred because he was helping Siddiq.

However, two years after Carl's death Avi decided to leave the show and his character was killed by the Whisperers, and it left Walking Dead fans very unhappy that Carl's death now seemed pointless.

In response, Avi said: "I would just say to the fans sometimes s**t happens, but Siddiq definitely stayed true to his promise of honouring Carl."

Speaking to , he added: "Hopefully, he’s been a character they care enough about and has been portrayed with enough sensitivity and depth that they will allow Siddiq to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the other great characters, and they’ll give him a place up there with them, looking down on the rest of the survivors."

The Walking Dead's season 10 is now on hiatus, and at the end of the midseason finale fans saw Daryl stranded in cave full of walkers.

He found himself in the sticky situation as Carol bolted after Alpha upon spotting her in the forest, ultimately being lured into the subterranean trap.

The Walking Dead returns to FOX on February 24 and is available to stream on NOW TV.
