The Mandalorian season two ‘will feature original Star Wars trilogy characters’
STAR Wars fans are in for a treat as season two of The Mandalorian is expected to feature "established characters" from the Skywalker saga.
The hit Disney+ show has so far focused on new characters including Pedro Pascal’s titular character, Carl Weathers Greef Karga and Gina Carano’s Cara - as well as star of the series, baby Yoda.
However, as the show gears up for season two, insiders close to the production have told that fans may see "several established characters".
The Mandalorian takes place between the events of 1983's Return of the Jedi and 2015's The Force Awakens and follows a lone bounty hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.
It stands to reason that at some point we may see characters from the original George Lucas films and even potentially the prequel series, although whether that includes major players like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo remains to be seen.
Show director Jon Favreau took to Twitter on December 27, 2019 to delight fans with a belated holiday gift that the second season of the Star Wars spin-off will be released in late 2020 on Disney's streaming service.

The creature is a big, green pig-like warrior with protruding bottom teeth which Entertainment Weekly revealed to be a Gamorrean, which Star Wars fans first saw in the film Return of the Jedi guarding Jabba the Hutt's palace.
Jon, 53, previously revealed back in July 2019 that he was already in the middle of writing the second series before the first had even premiered.
