CUTE wired-haired dachshund Maisie won Crufts 2020 Best In Show.

Celebrating canines from all over the world, the competition saw around 28,000 pooches put through their paces, with Maisie impressing the judges to take the title with owner Kim McCalmont. Here's all you need to know...

Who won Crufts 2020 Best In Show?

This year's champion pooch was a wire-haired dachshund called Silvae Trademark.

The dachshund - known as Maisie - grabbed the title on the final day of Crufts 2020 on Sunday, March 8.

And she showed how relieved she was to run out the winner with a little deposit of her own in the arena.

Maisie beat seven finalists to claim her crown, including Pixie the Kerry Blue Terrier, Frankie the Miniature Poodle, Pablo the Bishon Frise, Elsie the Irish Setter, who was the oldest competitor, Drago the Bull Mastiff, and Zokni, the Old English Sheepdog.

She is also the first dachshund to win the coveted title.

When was Crufts 2020?

Crufts 2020 was held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

Day one kicked off on Thursday, March 5, and the event continued until Sunday, March 8.

Canines battled it out to take the title from reigning 2019 champion pooch - a Papillon called Dylan.

The event is the largest of its kind in the world, and despite some restrictions in place due to the coronavirus outbreak it still attracted thousands of dogs and people to the four day event.

What are the Crufts 2020 results?

Crufts got off to an action-packed start.

Day one saw Lemon the Border Collie win the British Open Agility.

But the main focus for Thursday was on the Toy and Utility Groups where miniature poodle Ch Minarets Best Kept Secret, better known as Frankie, won the utility group.

And Pablo the bichon frise took top prize in the Toy group.

Day two on Friday Irish Setter Ch Gwendariff Coco Nut Cream, won the Gundog group.

Scooping second place was Lagotto Romagnolo Ch Kan Trace Very Cheeky Chic .

Spaniel American Cocker Ch Galaksi Freaking Famous took third in show, while snapping fourth place was Sh Ch Ludstar Frederick Frankenstein, the Gordon Setter.

Day three on Saturday saw the doggies compete for the Working and Pastorial titles.

Bullmastiff Ch Phoenix Never Dies Du Monde d'Elias won the Working crown and old English sheepdog Ch Bottom Shaker The Greatest Picture won the Pastoral category.

Saturday also offered a host of other activities through the day including junior handling, heelwork, flyball, obedience, international agility and the Scruffts final.

The latter was won by Clooney, who takes home the title of Most Handsome Crossbreed Dog.

Day four saw Kerry Blue terrier Indian Princess At Perrisblu win the Terrier group and Ch Silvae Trademark (dachshund wire-haired) the top Hound.

Then all group winners from all four days returned on Sunday in the hope of claiming the coveted Best in Show title - which was awarded to wire-haired Dachshund Silvae Trademark aka Maisie.
