Comedian Katherine Ryan upsets fans after lying about having botched bum lift to promote TV show
The star sparked shock with photos appearing to show her botched bum lift, but she's since revealed it wasn't real
COMEDIAN Katherine Ryan has upset fans by lying about a botched bum lift in order to promote a TV show.
The star shocked her followers when she shared pictures appearing to show the results of the 'procedure', but she's since revealed it wasn't real after all.
After receiving support from fans, as they reacted to the painful-looking photos, Katherine later tweeted "thanks for your ridicule and concern", before revealing the photos weren't real.
In fact, it was an attempt to promote a bizarre new TV show on Channel 4, and it left fans angry and upset.
One tweeted: "I feel embarrassed now that I was concerned for you. But I guess that as long as it is to promote a TV show it doesn't matter."
However Katherine defended herself, claiming it was a "lesson" for people not to be "influenced" online.
But bizarrely Katherine lied to her fans and fooled them into thinking she'd had a procedure to prove a point, which later backfired on her.
It came after the comic claimed she had got the procedure done by an unlicensed surgeon.
In the snap she shows her purple-bruised bum covered with stitches and plasters.
The comedian, who is panellist on ITV2's Safeword, revealed that she was "broken-hearted" about needing to cancel her shows but that she would be refunding tickets.
Katherine commented: "It's true, I got a #BBL by an unlicensed surgeon but I'm making the best of it. Sorry to let you down. Refunds for canceled shows this wk.💔🍑"
She then quipped: "I asked the doctor for 'Kylie' but he did the wrong one. Very stupid. Not worth it."
