EVERTON are set to bid £40million for Arsenal star Olivier Giroud after missing out in the summer, according to reports.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is still desperate to add the Frenchman to his ranks and help fill the void up front left by Romelu Lukaku.
And the Mirror are reporting that the Dutchman will go back in for Giroud, 30, and try and tempt him to Merseyside.
Koeman has come under increasing pressure after a shaky start to the season that saw them lose three on the bounce before yesterday's win against Bournemouth.
And Giroud is said to be interested in a move to Goodison Park as he wants regular first-team football ahead of next year's World Cup in Russia.
Giroud looked increasingly likely to leave Arsenal in the summer with West Ham also chasing the striker.
But Giroud then insisted he was committed to the Gunners and wanted to fight for his place.
Arsene Wenger may have had a part to play in him staying as he feared Alexis Sanchez would not remain at the Emirates.

But the Gunners rejected a £60m deadline day bid from Manchester City after failing with their pursuit of Monaco's Thomas Lemar.
But Giroud has struggled to make it into the starting XI and was only used as a substitute against Chelsea last weekend.
And with the World Cup only 9 months away, Giroud knows he must be playing to ensure his place in the French squad.
