The best mineral magnesium products to overcome depression, headaches and insomnia
Three-quarters of Brits do not get enough of the mineral which can also keep bones and teeth strong and healthy
EVER felt tired or depressed, got a headache or struggling to sleep?
It could be down to a hectic life - or a lack of the mineral magnesium.
Three out of four of us don’t get enough of it.
Despite being around for hundreds of years this is the new fashionable wonder mineral.
Here’s how to get your fix and we’ve put hair masks to the test...
Bath: BetterYou’s Magnesium Flakes (£3.49 for 1kg) are perfect to put in a foot soak or evening bath.
They are made from the most natural source of magnesium chloride on the market so they can be absorbed easily and last longer.
I loved these.
I have really tense aching shoulders and they helped ease them.
They’re odourless so you can still add your favourite oils or bubbles too.
Melts: These little magnesium phosphate mineral salt pills are worth a go if you don’t like swallowing tablets.
They dissolve under your tongue for absorption into the bloodstream.
They have the texture of chalk but no flavour.
Great to have on your desk and take if you realise you’re feeling tense.
Not great if you don’t eat dairy products though as the main ingredient is lactose. New Era salt pills (£8.49 for 240 tablets) are available from
Vitamins: Solgar is a multi award winning company and I always trust them when I am looking to stock up.
And these pills are brilliant.
They contain a patented form of chelated magnesium.
Basically chelated forms of magnesium, including magnesium citrate, are better absorbed than magnesium oxide which is often used in supplements.
If you want a decent fix and don’t mind pills these are the ones to go for. Available at at Holland & Barrett and
