Gigi Hadid says she ‘wants her t**s back’ as she slams cruel body-shaming trolls while battling Hashimoto’s disease

GIGI Hadid has slammed cruel body-shaming trolls and revealed she’s been suffering with a thyroid disease which causes her to lose weight.

The 22-year-old supermodel explained her thinner physique is the result of her battle with Hashimoto’s disease and not because she’s “given in” to the pressures of the fashion industry.

While she admitted developing a thicker skin since finding fame, the star confessed cruel comments are still tough to take.

Speaking to actress Blake Lively in a chat forshe said: “Most of it is just nonsense. But it can still hurt. Nowadays, people are quick to say, ‘I used to love Gigi’s body, and now she just gave in.’”

But the ex-girlfriend of Zayn Malik insists that isn’t the case, as her slim frame is actually due to Hashimoto’s disease, which is an inflammation of the thyroid gland that can cause weight to fluctuate.

While some women would pine for Gigi’s current physique, the beauty says she’s very much missing her former curves.

She said: “If I could choose, I would have my ass back and I would have the t*ts I had a few years ago.

“But, honestly, we can’t look back with regret. I loved my body then, and I love my body now.”

In order to keep her health condition under control, Gigi must exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet.

while she has adapted to clean living over the years, the runway favourite admitted she found her monitored eating particularly difficult in her teenage years, particularly when her friends could eat McDonald’s without any side-effects.

What is Hashimoto's disease?

Hashimoto’s disease is the most common form of thyroiditis (inflammation of the thyroid gland).

 

The thyroid gland makes hormones which control metabolism.

 

Women are 7 times more likely to have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and while it’s more likely to affect middle-aged women, if can affect people of any age.

 

The main cause of Hashimoto’s is genetics, but other causes can include excessive iodine and radiation exposure.

But Gigi isn’t the only member of the Hadid family who suffers with her health, as her model siblings Bella and Anwar Hadid, and even her mother Yolanda, have Lyme disease.

The tick-borne condition means Bella, 21, even had to cut short her burgeoning equestrian career.
