BURNLEY'S attempts to bring Jay Rodriguez back to Turf Moor have been stalled by West Brom after they turned down an opening bid for the striker.
The one-time England attacker is reported to be open to a return to his former side following the Baggies’ relegation to the Championship.
the Clarets submitted a £12m bid for Rodriguez, 28, but West Brom are not interested in accepting that figure.
Rodriguez started his career at Burnley, netting 31 league goals before a £7m switch to Southampton in 2012.
He spent five years at the South Coast club and scored 26 goals but also endured a year on the sidelines after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in 2014.
A £12m move to the Hawthorns came in 2017 but his seven league goals were not enough to prevent West Brom’s eight-year stay in the Premier League from coming to an end last season.
Burnley are also interested in Rodriguez' team-mate Craig Dawson while Albion are keeping eyes on Nahki Wells, who is currently at the Clarets.
