How is Steve Trevor back in Wonder Woman 2: 1984 and will Chris Pine play a major role in the new movie?
WONDER Woman fans are thrilled to see Steve Trevor return for the film's sequel - despite the fact he seemingly died in the 2017 flick.
After the new Wonder Woman 1984 trailer confirmed his characters return, we take a look at how Chris Pine's character managed to make his grand return.
How is Steve Trevor back in Wonder Woman 2: 1984?
Despite dying in the original movie, Steve Trevor will return as Diana's love interest in the sequel.
But their love affair will take place in the 1980's, not WW1 like in the first movie.
The teasers and trailers are still yet to explain how Steve seems to have miraculously been raised from the dead and planted in completely a different era.
But you can expect to get all the explanations when the film is released in 2020.
Will Chris Pine play a major role in Wonder Woman 2?
Director Patty Jenkins uploaded a snap of a youthful looking Steve dressed in '80's garb to her Twitter.
If the films are chronological, Chris Pine's character would be in his 80's in this shot - making him have aged phenomenally well - so we can assume there's an alternate explanation to be had.
But it does look like he'll play a significant part after the trailer shows Diana fight off evil with the help of her old flame Steve.
The trailer shows an insight into how Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) will battle the Soviet Union and her arch nemesis - Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) and try to save the world from evil.
