KATE Middleton is known for glossy locks, but have you spotted her large scar in her hairline?
Eagle-eyed fans will have noticed that the Duchess of Cambridge, 36, has a secret three-inch scar on her left temple, that is often concealed by her stunning brunette hair.
So how did the scar come about?
It was first spotted a few years ago, and at the time people mistook it for hair extensions.
However the Palace ended up releasing a statement at the time saying: “The scar is related to a childhood operation."
They declined to comment on the nature of the operation due to it being a private matter, but senior royal sources said it had been a “very serious operation”, according to the .
John Scurr, a consultant surgeon at the Lister Hospital in London, told the publication that it was unlikely to have been down to a tumour.
He said: “I really doubt it was any serious medical condition and I would say it is as a result of an arteriovenous malformation – a birthmark – being removed.
“It is remarkable, given the measurement, that no-one has noticed before.”
While the operation remains a mystery, recent photos show Kate styling her hair in a way that conceals the scar when she wears it up.
Her husband Prince William, 36, also has a scar on his head, and refers to it as his “Harry Potter” scar.
The forehead scar is said to be the result of being hit with a golf club when he was 13.
