You can LIVE on a cruise ship for less than a mortgage
A new cruise ship will offer passengers the opportunity to live on a "floating estate" - and work from home while sailing the high seas.
Villa Vie Residences - due to launch in May 2024 - is selling rooms onboard for £82,000 - which is cheaper than a lot of mortgages back on land.
The ship will set sail from Southampton and do a lap of the world every three-and-a-half years, docking in 420 ports in 147 countries across all seven continents.
Three different accommodation options are on offer and permanent cabins can be brought outright with prices starting at £82,180 - rising to £205,120.
For those not confident in their sea legs there is also the option to pay-as-you-go and join the trip for short segments - this costs £73 per day.
Residents will be treated to live entertainment, multiple dining options, several pools and a business centre with high speed internet so they can work from home.
Additional monthly fees start at £1,441 per person to cover onboard food, drinks and services such as 24/7 medical support, housekeeping, and a bi-weekly laundry service.
