Who is Marc Dean and when did he win the Pro Doubles Men’s HYROX World Championships with Jake Dearden?

Marc shared the attitude that has helped him achieve success

MARC Dean is a HYROX world champion who has become a big name in the elite sports competition. 

The athlete took home the first place trophy in the Pro Doubles category at the HYROX World Championships, alongside his teammate Jake Dearden.

Meet Marc Dean

Marc is an active member of the HYROX community and, on Dylan Mascord’s podcast, he shared that becoming a "world champion at HYROX" has always been his dream. 

Marc added that he is motivated by a desire to “prove it to all them and prove it to everyone else”. 

The sportsman has four children with his partner Carina Bennett.

However, Marc has joked that Carina is not as much of HYROX fan as him.

On Instagram, Marc shared a snap of his partner who he said was “buzzin that there was no HYROX”.

World-class competition

HYROX is a fitness competition first launched in Hamburg, Germany, in 2017.

The competition sees its athletes run 8km, with each kilometre broken up by a gruelling, compulsory workout station.

The competition has exploded in popularity and had over 90,000 athletes competing during its 2022/2023 season.

Jake Dearden described the level of entry as “really low”, because the movements “don’t require a massive amount of skill”.

There are singles, doubles and relay events.

Winning big

Jake and Marc took home the 1st place trophy at the Pro Doubles Men's HYROX World Championships, with the amazing finishing time of 52:34.

After their incredible win at the sporting event, Jake said: "The race itself was tight and to come out on top was unbelievable.

"It's a privilege, but it shows that all the hard work has paid off over the last couple of months and years.

"I'm over the moon and joining the Red Bull family of athletes this week has made it even better — it’s been a week of dreams."
