James Rodriguez appears to use a middle finger gesture at journalists in Colombia
The 25-year old Real Madrid star vented his frustrations to the media after receiving criticism for Colombia's narrow win over Bolivia
REAL MADRID playmaker James Rodriguez was caught by photographers giving them the finger ahead of Colombia's training session on Saturday.
The 25-year old's obscene gesture appeared to be aimed at three journalists and two photographers waiting outside the national team’s hotel in Bogota.
Despite calls for the skipper to be dropped, head coach Jose Pekerman has failed to take action against Rodriguez, nor have the Colombian national team issued any form of apology or statement.
It's thought the La Liga star was hitting back at reporters over criticism for his performance against Bolivia last Thursday.
Colombia now face a crucial 2018 World Cup qualification tie in Ecuador, who are in fifth and level on points with their South American rivals.
The number 10 has struggled to make regular appearances at Real Madrid since his arrival from Monaco in a deal worth £71m in 2014 - and his days in Spain are numbered.
Recent reports suggest Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane is prepared to make Rodriguez part of any bid to sign Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard this summer.
