Can England win the World Cup 2018? Fans vote and 90 per cent say there is no chance
ENGLAND fans have delivered a damning verdict on Gareth Southgate’s men – as 90 per cent do not believe the Three Lions can win next year’s World Cup.
England have failed to excite their long-suffering supporters during the current campaign but are within touching distance of qualifying for next summer’s finals.
Southgate’s side beat Slovakia 2-1 at Wembley on Monday, are unbeaten and have won six out of their eight games.
England can book their place at the tournament by beating Slovenia at Wembley in next month’s penultimate qualifier.
And even if they fail, they would only need to beat minnows Lithuania three days later to make it through.
However England fans remain unconvinced by what they have seen.
Sports opinion experts Voice Of The Fans have sounded out supporters and just ten per cent believe England can win the World Cup in Russia.
What’s worse, in a separate poll, supporters have made old rivals France their pre-tournament favourites to lift the trophy in the final in Moscow on July 15.
