Boss Jorge Sampaoli had Manchester City ace Aguero up top at practice, with Messi and Di Maria playing just behind him.
Independiente midfielder Maximiliano Meza was deployed at the apex of a three-man midfield, which Javier Mascherano and Lucas Biglia anchored.
Sampaoli switched Milan's Biglia with Giovani Lo Celso during the session, suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain starlet, 22, is in the mix to start on Saturday at Moscow's Spartak Stadium.
Manchester City's Nicolas Otamendi and Manchester United's Marcos Rojo were centre-back partners, flanked by Benfica right-back Eduardo Silva and Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico.
