What is Antoine Griezmann’s celebration and how did France ace’s ‘Take the L’ dance start?
France World Cup star pulled out the popular move after he scored against Arsenal and Real Madrid
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN could pull out his 'Take the L' celebration at the World Cup in Russia.
The French forward, who scored 27 goals for Atletico Madrid last season, is one of several footballers that have used the popular move after scoring.
How did the 'Take the L' celebration start?
The celebration is inspired by the hugely popular video game Fortnite.
It is a multi-player online game in which players battle to remain the last person alive.
On the game, the move is used to troll your opponent after you have killed them.
Griezmann has done the dance on several occasions, including against Arsenal and Real Madrid.
What is the 'Take the L' celebration?
It originated from the horror film It when a main character did the dance but with an added 'loser sign'.
It will involve the player making a 'L' sign across their forehead with their finger and thumb.
The goalscorer then kicks their legs up and down to celebrate and mock their opponent.
Who uses the 'Take the L' celebration?
Griezmann is not the only player to have used the celebration.
In fact, Stuttgart pair Greuther Furth and Daniel Ginczek have also got in on the act this season.
And Cardiff City ace Callum Paterson showed his love for the game after he scored against Birmingham and Barnsley.
