A scan at hospital in St Petersburg yesterday revealed Dele has a minor thigh strain from England’s 2-1 win over Tunisia.

The midfield ace is expected to miss training on Wednesday and boss Gareth Southgate is unlikely to risk him against Panama with Belgium to come next Thursday.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek could step in after impressing as a sub in the Three Lions’ Group G opener.

And Danny Rose may replace Ashley Young at left wing-back.

In Monday’s post-match talk, Southgate stressed how proud he was of the team and his delight they stuck to his plan despite going into injury-time at 1-1.

Boss Southgate said: "We had leaders on the pitch who kept delivering the right messages.

"In our meetings we've covered being behind and in front.

"Keep probing and look for the win but don't expose yourself to counter-attacks.

"We did that. We kept the ball well. We didn't lob it forward senselessly.

"We overloaded in wide areas and the pressure built.

"Maybe you run out of time but we kept doing the right things and making good decisions. We were good value for the win over 90 minutes.

"There are always things to improve. We are a team who are developing."
