Yet, she ‘promised’ she wasn’t starting the celebrations early.

England stormed to a 5-0 lead in the first-half, with travelling fans going wild in the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.

But Logan got caught in the crossfire and could be heard describing her ordeal to Gary Lineker and his fellow pundits in the studio.

The presenter said: “Listen if you can smell me right now, it’s because somebody threw a pint of beer from the stands over me.

“I haven’t been having a sneaky half-pint during the first half. Promise.”

The hilarious incident caused some laughs in the BBC studio with former England international Jermaine Jenas believing Logan had already got the party started.

The ex-Tottenham midfielder claimed: “It’s celebrations in it.”

Lineker followed that up with his own remark: “Small beer Gabby, small beer.”

Gabby Logan still managed to get soaked, only this time by a beer in the stands

Logan’s afternoon had almost gotten off to a wet start, after diving for cover to avoid getting soaked by the sprinklers during the build-up to England’s Group G clash.

The former Welsh gymnast had been interviewing the Three Lions’ U-21 manager Aidy Boothroyd on the edge of the pitch, before having to dash to the advertising boards to prevent getting drenched.

It only held off the inevitable, coming out worse with a beer shower.

Logan managed to recover from the soaking to interview hat-trick hero Harry Kane and England defender John Stones on pitch at the end of the match, this time without any incidents.
