SNOUT you go! Joachim Low looked better at picking his nose than selecting the Germany team as the World Cup holders crashed out.

The German boss was caught delving into his hooter yet again while his team fell 2-0 to South Korea's stoppage-time double.

The shock result put Germany's noses out of joint as they failed to reach the second round for the first time since 1938.

But serial picker Low was his usual self as cameras spotted him with a finger up his nose, just as they did in the last-gasp 2-1 victory over Sweden four days earlier.

Kim Young-gwon's close-range stab-in - awarded on VAR - and Son Heung-Min's breakaway goal sunk the tournament's four-time winners.

And Low's position must now be in doubt, four years after he led them to glory, including a 7-1 rout of hosts Brazil and a 1-0 defeat of Argentina in the final.

The South Korean VAR goal that knocks Germany out of the World Cup

Yet before the game the president of German football's ruling body insisted Low would stay until at least 2022 - whatever today's result.

Reinhard Grindel said: "We decided in the DFB executive committee before the World Cup to offer a contract extension.

"We believe there will be a transition that will take place after the World Cup, regardless of the outcome of the tournament, and no one is better equipped to handle that than Jogi Low."

The 58-year-old certainly seems well equipped at handling his nose - and other parts of his body.

Two years ago cameras noted him twice scratching his privates inside his trousers during a 2-0 triumph over Ukraine.

He then appeared to sniff his fingers.

But now he will be more concerned about the nasty stink around the Germany team.
