Low admits he is considering his future after shock defeat to South Korea sent world champions crashing out of Russia 2018
JOACHIM LOW says he will take the night to decide whether to quit as Germany manager.
Low has been left reeling after watching his world champions crash out of Russia 2018 in shame by failing to even get out of the group stages.
And the 58-year-old admits he is now considering whether he is the right man to stay in the job even though he only signed a new long-term contract on the eve of the tournament.
Low said: "I'm the first who has to ask the questions. What went wrong? What was the issue?
"The exit is my responsibility, and I have to sleep on it for one night now. I'm very disappointed and frustrated.
"It's too early for me to answer whether I will stay on. The disappointment is deep inside me.
"I could not have imagined that - I was optimistic.
"I need a few hours now, tomorrow we will talk."
The prospect of Low leaving his position had not even been entertained by the German Football Federation coming into the tournament.
They had tied him down to a new contract only last month right through to the end of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Even in the build-up to the South Korea match, DFB president Reinhard Grindel appeared in no mood to make a change.
He said: "We decided in the DFB presidency before the World Cup for the contract extension, independent on the outcome of this World Cup.
"That is because we believe that any upheaval cannot be better designed by anyone than by Jogi Low."
The DFB have yet to decide whether they need to reconsider the manager's position - although Low may take that choice out of his hands after speaking to family and friends.
