Shocking moment Russia fan jumps onto police car and gets brutally beaten by cops while celebrating win over Spain
The boozy reveller was battered with police batons minutes after the game in Voronezh, south of Moscow
WORLD Cup cops were caught on camera inflicting an horrific baton beating on a fan - in images which will send chills down the spine of every supporter in Russia.
The boozy reveller foolishly celebrated Russia’s amazing victory over Spain by climbing onto the roof of a parked police patrol truck in Voronezh, south of Moscow.
He then started jumping up and down on the 4x4 before being roughly tackled by the uniformed officers who promptly dragged him to the ground and went to work.
An onlooker filmed the man being repeatedly beaten with the batons as other fans looked on in total horror.
The battered supporter is believed to have been detained by the cops, however his condition is not known. His identity, age and nationality have not been disclosed.
“Not everyone managed to celebrate the victory peacefully,” reported the OFNEWS channel, which monitors fans and hooligans.
“Cops beat up a man because he jumped on their car. Well, you need to use your brain.”
A woman at the scene said: “I and my husband went to see the fountains on Soviet Square.
“Fans were swimming in them and shouting: “Russia! Russia! Then the fountains were switched off and people moved along Revolution Street.
“The street was overcrowded. It was impossible to drive on the road."
Fans then jumped onto the road bringing the streets to a standstill as frustrated drivers blasted their car horns.

“Riot police came to the scene and and made a human shield. Drunk people jumped on cars…honestly it was scary,” the woman added.
Russian police have so far won praise in World Cup cities for the mainly calm way they have controlled crowds.
Meanwhile, shocking video footage shows how a Russian fan was severely injured after being rammed by a car travelling at 60mph as he and friends celebrated the win.
The group had taken over a street for late night kick around and party in Kopeisk - two time zones east of Moscow - after the historic win.
Other cars had slowed and gone around the revellers but 26 year old Gennady Nazdrachyov, a father of three, was hit and suffered a broken leg and arm wounds.
How wife Tatiana, 25, said: “His friend told me told me he was hit by a car. Now he is in hospital. His leg is broken and he has several wounds on his arm.”
