World Cup 2018: England star Raheem Sterling barged by Colombian coach at half-time as last-16 clash gets spiky

Tempers flared during the interval as South American side started using a number of dark arts

RAHEEM STERLING was barged by Colombian coach Eduardo Urtasun as he left the Otkrytie Arena pitch at half-time.

England went in at the break with the score 0-0 after a heated 45 minutes.

And Colombia's technical staff made their feelings known, with the coach appearing to use his shoulder to knock Sterling as he headed towards the tunnel.

The two nations endured a tense first half, where players from both camps squared up following Wilmar Barrios' apparent head bump on Jordan Henderson.

With the winners going onto face Sweden for a place in the semi-finals, tensions quickly rose.

With plenty of talking points at half-time, it was the barge that garnered most attention, including from the referee.

The coach was given a stern warning by American official Mark Geiger.
