World Cup 2018: England training top sells out after heroic shootout win… and fans are making a killing on eBay

As Nike apparently rule out making any more, the £47.95 tops are selling for prices between £100 to £140.

ENGLAND training shirts worn by Harry Kane and his team-mates after their victory over Colombia are now changing hands on eBay for £140.

The stylish white replica tops with a red and blue pattern across the chest have proved so popular with England fans that they have sold out with most retailers.

And with Nike apparently ruling out the prospect of making any more of the 'Pre-Match Warm Up Training Shirts', the £47.95 tops are selling on eBay for prices between £100 to £140.

Minutes after England's historic penalty shoot-out win over Colombia, the team quickly swapped their red playing shirts for the funky training tops.

So far 12 of the short-sleeved shirts have sold for over £100 on eBay, with fans desperate to get their hands on the must-have England accessory.

One eBay trader described the top they are selling as: "Looks stunning, best England shirt in years. Sold out in most sports shops. It's coming home."

"Nike completely sold out of this shirt weeks ago. Now unavailable in stores and online."

One large-size top attracted 42 bids before selling for £110.

Another is set to sell for around double the original retail price, with the seller describing it as 'a lovely design based on the 1982 kit'.

The official England Store emptied their shelves last week.

A spokesman said the shirt was a fans' favourite but at the moment they don't have any plans to restock.

Staff at the megastore put the jersey's success down to its unique design and admitted it has outsold both England's home and away kits.

Jade Crawford, who works at the store, said: "The training shirt has consistently been a best-seller since it was released before the World Cup had even started.

"That only increased when the team started doing well and we were completely sold out by the end of June.

"I think people like the unique design of it as it really stands out and looks different.

"It's sold more than the actual home shirts and I'm not surprised to hear they're selling for so much online.

"At present we have no plans to have any more ordered in but we still have a wide range of shirts for fans to purchase."

Supporters have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at the lack of stock.

@Yodasmydad tweeted Nike: "So @Nike @nikefootball why are you limiting production of the England Pre-Match training tops?

"Seriously unethical at this time to cause so much demand people are selling them for 4 times the amount on eBay!!"

Another supporter, Paul Baker, added: "@Nike are you expecting to get any England training shirts back in stock anytime soon?

"Bit rubbish they are all out of stock for so long when demand is high!"
