World Cup 2018: France boss Didier Deschamps blasts Ousmane Dembele’s attitude ahead of Uruguay clash
Star refused to train with Borussia Dortmund last summer in order to force through a £135million transfer to Barcelona
DIDIER DESCHAMPS has launched a bizarre attack on Ousmane Dembele on the eve of France’s World Cup showdown with Uruguay.
The forward joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for £135m last summer, becoming the third most-expensive player on the planet.
But the French star, 21, left on bad terms as he refused to train while forcing through his exit to the Nou Camp.
And Dembele’s actions did not impress his international manager, who could decide to start him in the tomorrow’s quarter-final against the South Americans.
France boss Deschamps told : “It was unacceptable behaviour.
“Dembele's attitude caused problems at Dortmund, for his team-mates and in the national team.
“I could not call up Dembele for the France squad because he was not training.
“It's an attitude we can't tolerate one of our players having.”
Despite his bizarre pre-match blast, Deschamps will be focused on another Barcelona star for the next 24 hours.
He will be hoping his side can stop Luis Suarez and Co as Les Bleus look to become the first nation to book their spot in the semi-finals.
