EDEN HAZARD took time out from celebrating Belgium's win over Brazil to offer a special word of consolation to Neymar - and the fans loved it.
Chelsea star Hazard produced a brilliant display as he inspired Belgium to a thrilling win over the Samba stars to seal a place in the World Cup semi-finals.
In doing so the 27-year-old ended the dreams of Brazil icon Neymar of leading his nation to glory at Russia 2018.
And in a touching moment of empathy, Hazard broke off from his joyous team-mates to offer a words and a hug to his rival.
Neymar had been reduced to tears after the final whistle as Brazil just came up short of salvaging an equaliser in the 2-1 defeat.
The first person who rushed to offer support was Thierry Henry, who had helped mastermind Brazil's downfall as assistant to Roberto Martinez.
And he was quickly followed by Hazard, who had turned in the all-round performance which confirmed his status as one of the best players on the planet.
The gesture impressed supporters of both countries, who were quick to praise the Chelsea star for his touch of class.
Brazil fan @neymarxox wrote on Twitter: "This moment between Neymar and Eden Hazard was everything, the way they hugged each other."
And @ballinthecity added: "Classy touch from a classy team shown towards someone who has showed absolutely no class in this tournament whatsoever."
